  • Make in India: India based Aequs signs pact to supply components for Boeing's Chinook helicopter-Dutch firm Fokker Tech, a division of GKN Aerospace and aerospace manufacturer Aequs signed an agreement to supply machined components for Boeing's Chinok heavy lift helicopter, of which the machined detailed parts will be made in India and supplied by Aequs
  • CDC group invests in India-CDC Group, UK's development finance institution is set to invest close to $750 million in India over the next three years as India's investment climate is expected to generate better returns for long-term financial investors
  • The state of Madhya Pradesh in India is scheduled to build the world's largest 750 Mega Watts(MW) solar power station at the Rewa district under joint venture of Solar Energy Corporation of India and MP Urja Vikas Nigam
  • Make in India--Australia's FAL Food and Beverages, which makes the Coco Joy, Juiced Up and Aqua Hero beverages, announced the setting up of its first Indian factory within three years, which will serve several countries.   • China's smart phone manufacturer, Xiaomi's, Redmi 2 Prime will be the first Made-in-India phone at Andhra Pradesh in India. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the phone in Visakhapatnam recently under the Make in India, Made in Andhra Pradesh programme. Xiaomi is the third largest Smart phone manufacturer of the world after Samsung and Apple.
  • Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer and a key supplier to Apple Inc, signed a pact with the State Government of Maharashtra in India to invest US $5 billion over five years on a new electronics manufacturing facility. Foxconn is one of the world's largest private employers.
  • India is set to overtake the US as the 2nd largest smartphone market by 2017-- International Data Corporation (IDC) predicts India to overtake the US as the second-largest smartphone market globally by 2017 and to maintain high growth rate over the next few years as people switch to smartphones and gradually upgrade to 4G.
  • Government of India shortlists 100 cities for Smart Cities Mission worth US $ 16 billion as part of completion of Stage One of the Mission
