Attestation of affidavit / Power of attorney

Attestation of Documents (Non-Property Matters)
To be submitted in duplicate duly notarized. Original passport is required. Fee is Euro 12.

Attestation of Documents (Property/Financial Matters)
To be submitted in duplicate duly notarized. Original passport is required. Fee is Euro 12/-.

Attestation of Documents (Commercial Matters)
The documents to be attested are required to be Apostilled by the Foreign Ministry of Belgium / Luxembourg in duplicate. Original passport is not required. Fee is Euro 62 per page. Fee has to be paid in cash.

Power of Attorney (Non-Property Matters)
To be submitted in duplicate duly notarized or the applicant can come and sign at the Embassy counter in which case notarization is not necessary. Original passport is required. Fee is Euro 25/-. Fee has to be paid in cash.

Attestation of Affidavit/Power of Attorney (Company or Commercial Documents)
Documents pertaining to Companies functioning in the consular jurisdiction of the Embassy, should first be authenticated and processed according to the ‘Apostille Convention’ by the Authentication Division of the Department of State in the State concerned.

Once the documents have been ‘Apostilled', (i.e. authenticated) the Embassy is not required to attest the documents.

If you insist on Embassy’s attestation, then proceed as follows:
Submit original and one photocopy. Fee is Euro 62/- per document. Fee has to be paid in cash.

Attestation of Affidavit for Issue of a Passport to a Child Residing in India
This is required when one of the parent of the child is staying abroad and passport is to be issued to the child in India afresh or after deletion of the child's name in the passport of the parent resident in India. The sworn – in affidavit in the prescribed form (click here) has to be submitted along with the passport of both / either of the parents. Fee is Euro 12/-. Fee has to be paid in cash.

Attestation of Documents for Transportation of Human Remains (Body)
The following documents are required to be submitted:

  • Original passport of the deceased;
  • Certified copy of the Death Certificate (by registrar of birth & death, or vital statistics);
  • Embalmer’s Certificate (Funeral Home Certificate stating that the body has been embalmed in accordance with the international shipping and that the body has been placed in a hermetically sealed container with zinc liner and wooden outer container) duly notarized;
  • 4. No communicable disease certificate from the Department of Health stating that the deceased do not have any communicable diseases/contagious diseases;
  • Burial/Transit permit ;
  • two photograph of the deceased and the person carrying the body;
  • A fee of Euro 25/- is charged to issue a certificate and Euro 1 for Indian nationals for registration.

All documents to be submitted in original with a set of photocopies.

Attestation of Documents for Transportation of Human Remains (Ashes)
The following documents are required to be submitted:

  • Original passport of the deceased;
  • Certified copy of the Death Certificate (by registrar of birth & death, or vital statistics).
  • A fee of Euro 25/- is charged to issue a certificate and Euro 01.00 for Indian nationals for registration.

All documents to be submitted in original with a set of photocopies.

Note: While the requirements mentioned above are complete in all respects, the Embassy has the right to ask/request for any original documents, at any stage and these documents should be presented for scrutiny and satisfaction of the Consular Officer.

Legalization of Indian Public documents

Fee of Euro 12/- per page will be charged. Fee has to be paid in cash. The following documents are required to be submitted:

  • Original of the documents to be legalized along with its photocopies.
