Rabindranath Tagore Memorial in Belgium

 

A bronze statue of Rabindranath Tagore was inaugurated at the Literary Garden of the Faculty of Arts of the renowned Katholic University of Leuven (KUL) in Belgium on the occasion of the 154th Birth Anniversary of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore on May 7, 2015.

 

 

2. The bust of Tagore was inaugurated by the Ambassador of India to Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU, H.E. Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri, in the presence of the Deputy Mayor of the City of Leuven, Mr. Mohamed Ridouani, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts of KUL, Mr. Luk Draye, the Bangladesh Ambassador in Brussels and Prof. Tapati Mukherjee, Director of Rabindra Bhavana of the Visva Bharati University in Shantiniketan. This is the first bust of Tagore installed in Belgium.
