Focus Seminar: India & Clean Technology held on March 21st, 2018 at Townhall Leuven

A seminar titled ‘India & Clean Technology’ was held in Townhall Leuven on March 21st, 2018. The Seminar was organized by Belgo-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BICC&I) in cooperation with India House Leuven, the Flemish Cleantech Association (FCA), the Flemish institute for technological research (VITO) and the Embassy of India in Brussels. Main focus of the Seminar was on water supply, waste water treatment, off grid energy and satellite communication. The seminar was attended by top Belgian companies in the field of cleantech.

H.E. Ms Gaitri Issar Kumar was key note speaker. She presented investment opportunism under National Mission for Clean Ganga. Welcome speeches were made by Mr. Mohamed Ridouani, Alderman for economics, education and internationalization, Town Hall Leuven and Baron Philippe Vlerick, Chairman of the Belgo-Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry. A presentation were made by Mr Sarvesh Rai, Adviser (A&MP) from the Mission on investment opportunities in the States of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Karnataka. Belgian companies which made presentations were: Mr. Rudi Mattheus from Electragram, Mr. Mohamed Takhim, founder of Ecophos and Mr. Frank De Poortere, BU Manager Industry & Services of Watergroep. Mr. Ludo Diels, Research Leader at Vito made a presentation on Andicos, a sustainable water treatment project in India. Mrs. Carine Van Hove, Managing Director Flanders Cleantech Association gave an overview of upcoming events in the field of cleantech. The presentations were followed by a Question and answer session headed by Mr. Johan Quartier, Vice President BICC&I.
