Person of Indian Origin (PIO) General information
- (a) Validity of PIO Card
A PIO Card shall be valid for a period of fifteen years from the date of issue subject to the validity of the passport of the applicant. In other words, the PIO card shall be valid only if the passport held by the individual is valid on a particular date.
- After issuance of the PIO card, if the holder is issued a new passport, he/she should get the new passport number endorsed on the PIO card. There is no fee for this service.
The service is provided at the Embassy on the same day during working hours.
(b) Fee for PIO cards issued with a fee of Euro 312/- and for minors it is Euro 156/-. .
(c) Fee is payable in cash only.
To endorse new passport number on PIO card
To endorse new passport number, both passports and PIO card in original are required. There is no form if applied at the counter.

Incomplete/False Information
Application forms should be filled in fully, legibly (in BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS) and accurately. Applications received with incomplete details would remain unprocessed causing unnecessary delays. It is an offense to give false information in the Application. PIO card facilities can be denied/withdrawn on grounds of misuse, suppression of factual information, misrepresentation of the facts, submission of false particulars, and for making unauthorized changes in the PIO cards.
No Refunds
Fees, once received, cannot be refunded, even if the application is withdrawn or service cannot be rendered.
