Visit of Spanish Deputy Prime Minister

Spanish Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega is visiting India from 3-8 Jan 09. In Delhi, DPM would have detailed discussions with External Affairs Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee on 5 Jan 09, besides calling on a number of other dignitaries. After Delhi, DPM would be going to Mumbai, Bangalore and Anantpur.

The visit of DPM Fernandez follows the successful visit by Spanish Prime Minister Zapatero in July 2006. Trade between India and Spain is growing and has more than quadrupled from US$ 900 million in 2000 to US$ 3985 million in 2007.
