Visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of Republic of Cape Verde to India

A two-member official delegation from the Republic of Cape Verde, led by their Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities, H.E. Mr. Jose Brito, is currently visiting India from 18-22 November 2009. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised an interactive session this afternoon, which was co-chaired by the visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of Cape Verde and Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for External Affairs, during which the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of Cape Verde gave a power point presentation outlining the investment opportunities available for Indian businessmen and entrepreneurs. Later in the afternoon, H.E. Mr. Jose Brito visited Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL) to inspect the facilities for the Pan African e-Network Project. The Minister interacted on line with the tele-medicine and tele-educational centres in Senegal and Burundi. He also watched live CME session being delivered from the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre in New Delhi.
Official delegation level talks between the two sides will be held tomorrow, 20th November 2009, at the Hyderabad House, which would be co-chaired on the Indian side by Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for External Affairs. The visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of Cape Verde would also call on Shri S.M. Krishna, Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs the same day.
