Invitation for bids from firms interested in partial renovation of the heating system in chancery building at 217 Chaussée de Vleurgat 1050 Brussels
Embassy of India in Brussels intends to partially renovate the heating system in
the chancery building. The work will be contracted out through competitive biding from
firms with sound financial and technical base and adequate experience. Interested firms
are invited to bid in sealed envelopes by 1530 hrs on Friday 29th of July 2011. The bidder
is to submit two sealed envelopes. Address for sending sealed envelope: Head of

The first envelope, duly superscribed “first envelope” must contain the financial
bid documents for the heating system renovation project. The tender documents for the
price bid could be obtained as of 10:00 hrs on Monday 15 July 2011 from Ms Leticia

The second envelope, duly superscribed “second envelope”, must contain (1)
proof that the bidder has experience in renovation of heating systems: (a) one completed
work of euros 67,000 value of similar nature completed in the last five years; (b) two
works of €50,000 value of similar nature completed in the last five years; (c) three similar
works costing not less than euros 35,000 value completed in the last five years. There
should be adequate references of previous works to indicate that the interested firm can
complete the partial renovation of heating system project within 75 days of signing the
contract. A list of completed projects of similar nature with brief description of scope of
work, total project cost along with documentary proof of completion of each project is to
be furnished. (2) The second envelope must additionally contain proof of average
financial turnover of the last three consecutive financial years. (3) The firm must fulfill
social security and other obligations of heating system renovation project as required in
Belgium along with necessary proof. (4) This envelope should also contain the earnest
money deposit (EMD) of euros 1700 in the form of bank draft favouring “HOC Embassy
of India Brussels”.
The second envelope should be opened on the last day of submission of the bids at
1600hrs. The price bid (first envelope) of only those firms which fulfill the criteria laid
out in the second envelope shall be opened. The date of opening of the first envelope
containing the price bid shall be duly intimated to qualified bidders.
